Description & Requirements

You will join a team to execute projects with FORVIS clients in the government and nonprofit industries from planning and procedures performed to the writing of deliverables to the client. You will participate in client meetings, internal meetings, and project development.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess strong attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines. Dedication to client service is essential, including consistently positive interactions with clients and the demonstration of effective communication and people skills. The successful candidate will be an independent worker with excellent project management and time management skills and knows when and how to keep the engagement executive apprised of the client status and issues that need to be escalated. 

How you will contribute:

  • Participate and lead projects evaluating Federal and State grant funding opportunities and other sources of targeted funding, grant compliance and regulatory compliance
  • Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the client.
  • Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
  • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on grantor funding requirements.
  • Work on a variety of financial, accounting and compliance projects, with a primary focus on the government and nonprofit industries
  • Oversee overall project management including planning, supervising, and executing consulting projects in the areas of grant writing, compliance, and financial reporting
  • Perform industry and technical research for the development of new client solutions
  • Utilize technology and best practices to improve internal processes
  • Perform operational and financial assessments of client’s grants management compliance and finance departments processes, policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple client projects, including monitoring project time budgets and consistently meeting or exceeding agreed-upon deadlines
  • Ability to professionally write and communicate deliverables including but not limited to client funding proposals, meetings, internal meetings and projects
  • Critical thinking skills, combined with practical judgment, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
  • Advanced computer skills and the ability to learn new software related to the accounting function of an organization
  • Ability to communicate both up and downstream to team staff and exercise judgment in determining client interactions
  • High attention to detail as well as strong analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 2 years or more of grant writing and/or grant consulting experience within the government and nonprofit industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
