The world is always changing, and at FORVIS we too have been changing and reinventing ourselves, our lines of business, products, and services. This is an opportunity to join our rapidly growing Innovation Department. FORVIS is looking for Quality Assurance Engineers with the ability to adapt and who are excited to work with a high-performing team on products that impact people across the country every day. In this role, you will test and assess coded software as part of the Innovation Process and work with other members of the FORVIS, other teams, and possibly 3rd parties to identify any quality issues and/or potential product risk factors before product launch. The Quality Assurance Engineer understands software development and is highly organized to ensure that FORVIS’ products are tested as completely as possible and represent the highest quality. FORVIS has a software development team within a couple of areas of our firm, however, our Innovation Department does not currently have individuals with Quality Assurance expertise to help us in testing brand-new products before marketplace launch. This Quality Assurance Engineer opportunity is one where the right person can become a foundational piece of this exciting and vibrant department within FORVIS. The Quality Assurance Engineer’s role is to design and execute intricately automated and manual tests of coded software pieces, previously deployed solutions, or 3rd party products. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying product test plans throughout the product development process. The Quality Assurance Engineer will work with Software Engineers to correct any identified issues within code during the testing process.  

 

 

How you will contribute: 

 

  • Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely, meaningful feedback and determine its intended functionality 
  • Developing and establishing manual and automated quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles  
  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating testing activities 
  • Designing, generating, and executing automated and manual test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications 
  • Ensuring that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues 
  • Collaborating with software engineers in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods 
  • Completing necessary automated or manual API testing 
  • Completing necessary automated or manual performance testing 
  • Making recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers 
  • Communicating test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management 
  • Testing any new software to ensure integration meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications 
  • Analyzing formal test results to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws 
  • Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved 
  • Creating, verifying, and revising automated or manual quality assurance standards as needed 
  • Maintaining automation framework 
  • Staying up to date with new testing tools and test strategies 
  • Cultivating and disseminating knowledge of quality assurance best practices

Minimum Qualifications:  

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a college degree preferred 
  • 1 year or more of experience, with 3 years preferred 
  • Experience in overseeing the automated design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing 
  • Experience as an automation tester for major application integration and/or major application product release 
  • Strong knowledge of automated system testing best practices and methodologies 
  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software 
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts 
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities 
  • Experience with statistical reporting and analysis 
  • Excellent PC skills and technically fluent in programming language 
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures 
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting 
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process 
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
