Description & Requirements

Our National Proposal Specialist role requires a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is driven to succeed in a professional, deadline-driven environment. 

Solid writing abilities, excellent oral communication skills, including a strong executive presence, a sharp eye for detail, exceptional critical thinking skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently without missing deadlines, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality and a dedication to providing Unmatched Client Service are crucial for this position.

How you will contribute:

  • Writing, editing, and formatting proposal content in accordance with defined proposal methodology, FORVIS style, and risk language requirements using Microsoft Word
  • Ensuring all edits are made as noted in proposal drafts or discuss reasons for not making edits with appropriate member(s) of proposal team leadership, as applicable
  • Openly discussing any inabilities to accommodate requests, when they conflict with FORVIS style and/or risk considerations, seeking input from proposal team leadership on possible alternatives
  • Thoroughly understanding and responding to all requirements in a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) documents issued by clients/prospects
  • Establishing and managing the workflow of multiple proposal projects concurrently to meet all deadlines and follow up on timing changes as needed
  • Consulting available resources to gain a thorough understanding of the firm’s industry groups and service lines and apply that understanding when creating proposal documents
  • Using critical thinking to help incorporate a strategic approach in proposal documents, solve practical problems and effectively manage a variety of variables
  • Demonstrating strong understanding and effective use of proposal automation software
  • Scheduling and facilitating proposal kick-off calls with primary proposal contacts (and other client service or marketing professionals as appropriate) to discuss: 
    • Proposal opportunities and the business issues faced by the clients/prospects
    • Our approach to crafting win themes 
    • Relevant firm differentiators based on the issues identified
  • Scheduling internal reviews of proposal drafts and receiving/discussing feedback as needed
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with other teams and departments, including the proposal content team, legal department, etc.
  • Assisting with other special projects as determined by the Proposal Team Manager or other members of the proposal team leadership

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or other related areas. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 1 to 3 years of comparable experience is preferred.  
  • 3 years or more of relevant writing and project management experience is preferred, however, less experience would be considered. Experience in the professional services industry is a plus.
