Description & Requirements

The Tax Director serves as a trusted advisor and member of various client service teams and must possess significant knowledge of taxation compliance and consulting related to personal income, estate, gift, wealth retention strategies as well as taxation of entities owned by ultra-high new worth clients (partnership, trust, foundation taxation. The Director participates in client development, team management of associates and senior associates, and conducts research to be current as a subject matter expert. 


How you will contribute:

  • Providing tax compliance and tax advisory services to individuals, trusts, estates, and private foundations with emphasis on sophisticated individual, fiduciary, gift, and estate tax matters
  • Helping to develop, build, and manage client relationships as part of the proposal process
  • Participating in networking activities to further expand business opportunities and client relationships
  • As a highly impactful team member, maintaining functional expertise and understanding of a client’s business or family structure is essential to addressing client concerns and challenges
  • Assisting with managing, developing, and coaching professional tax staff
  • Reviewing returns prepared by tax associates and seniors
  • Effectively delegating responsibilities to others, monitoring efforts of engagement teams
  • Proficiently using technology tools in regular assignments and demonstrating a commitment to improving work processes through the use of technology
  • Successfully researching complex tax issues, applying findings to projects, and clearly communicating those findings in writing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 9 years or more of related experience in public accounting, law firm, or trust department
  • Bachelor or graduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA license or J.D. degree and bar admission
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements

Pursuant to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act:  Target Salary range: is $140,000 - $180,000  Please note: The noted compensation is for the Colorado market. Compensation for this role will be determined based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. This amount is not representative of an employee’s total compensation, which consists of, but is not limited to, salary (cash compensation), benefits, profit-sharing contributions, CPA Exam incentives, and other forms of compensation. FORVIS reserves the right to change the above figure based on business needs.
