Description & Requirements

The HR Generalist works collaboratively with the Advisory Services Region Human Resources team and regional leaders. This position supports efforts in recruitment, learning and development, accounting, and other departments throughout the firm and provides unmatched client service and effective human resource support to achieve firm goals and objectives.   

 

How you will contribute: 

  • Partner with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, and processes. Reviews and understands all FORVIS policies. Seeking consultation for policy interpretation and guidance from Leadership.  
  • Supporting activities to enhance employee relations and employee engagement such as onboarding of new employees, internal communications, community involvement, and employee engagement.  
  • Processing and maintaining appropriate documentation for new hires, transfers/promotions, terminations, compensation increases, etc. by utilizing the appropriate HR protocol, forms, and resources.  
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of pre-termination documentation (coaching conversations, verbal warnings, Performance Improvement Plans.) Work collaboratively with the HR Leadership team on involuntary terminations or other employee relations situations that may pose risk to the firm and require HR Leadership consultation.  
  • Notifying appropriate parties of employee relation issues such as employee issues, complaints, disciplinary matters, grievances, terminations, and harassment allegations. Follow guidance and direction from leadership 
  • Conducting new-hire orientation and follow up on continuous onboarding activities working in conjunction with the hiring manager 
  • Supporting employee recognition activities and awards.  
  • Demonstrating HR risk management skills in surfacing issues or potential issues to MP and HR Leadership.  
  • Monitoring and supporting performance success processes such as performance appraisals and professional licensing.  
  • Assisting the Talent Acquisition team to support the talent acquisition strategy.  
  • Understanding or seeking guidance on firm offered benefits and ensuring new employees understand enrollment deadlines and details of benefits offered (time off, health, wellness, life & disability, retirement, tax reduction plans, perks & programs, professional development, and philanthropy support).  
  • Interpreting, assists, and advises employees about benefits administration and leave management.  
  • Maintaining any required professional certifications and ongoing knowledge of HR employment law changes.

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or commensurate experience 
  • 3 years or more of experience in a similar role 
  • Proficiency in MS Office products 
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
