Description & Requirements

The research and development (R&D) tax credit is an incentive for companies to invest resources in the development of new and improved products, processes, and software. FORVIS’ R&D tax credit consultants work with companies in a multitude of industries to understand their R&D efforts and assist them with capturing these valuable tax savings.

How you will contribute:

  • Assisting with providing research and development tax consulting services to a variety of clients including Fortune 500, private middle-market companies, owner-managed businesses, and start-ups
  • Coordinating with Senior Consultant, Manager, Senior Manager, or Partner on all phases of an R&D credit engagement including initial scoping, engagement letter, information requests, project execution, and report and deliverable preparation
  • Conducting research on R&D credit statute, regulations, and case law
  • Gathering client documentation and assisting in the analysis of client data (both financial and technical)
  • Preparing research credit calculations and workpapers
  • Developing descriptions of qualified project activities to support R&D credit positions
  • Performing site visits to client locations to assist with data and information gathering, and participating in subject matter expert discussions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intern candidates must be working toward an accounting degree and CPA exam eligibility
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall) preferred
  • Strong computer skills preferred, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Applicants for positions with FORVIS must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verifications of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
